About Xcellerated Nurse Aide Training

Hello!

Welcome to Xcellerated Nurse Aide Training. I started this school because I have a heart for patient care, and I remember how challenging it was starting my medical career. I wanted to create a school that would equip you with the skills needed to start your medical professional journey, but I also wanted simple, affordable training. Xcellerated Nurse Aide Training is exactly that, and I look forward to partnering with you as you grow!

All the Best,

Lisa Handy LVN

About US

Xcellerated Nurse Aide Training ’s founder Lisa Handy has been a nurse for over 30 years. Lisa is a seasoned and accomplished veteran in the medical field. She began her career in long term care facilities and eventually advanced into working in the cardiac specialty field.

Lisa is local to the Odessa community. She was employed at Midland Memorial Hospital for over 15 years. There she learned the ins and outs of nursing from working in telemetry to intensive care. Her nursing management experience began as the Assistant Director of Nursing at a local long-term care facility.

Lisa wanted to know all aspects of a patient’s life span, so she worked as a hospice nurse until she retired. Her medical background ignited her passion for education and patient care and led to the creation of Xcellerated Nurse Aide Training, a local school offering hands on training as a certified nurse assistance courses / CNA classes.

Hello,

With over 32 years of experience in the medical field, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to healthcare and education. I spent 17 years as a Radiology Technologist before transitioning into nursing, where I have dedicated 15 years to patient care. My nursing background includes 5 years in long-term care (LTC), 8 years in hospice, and 3 years in mother/baby and labor and delivery units.

In addition to my clinical experience, I am the Program Director of Xcellerated Nurse Aide Training, a role I’ve proudly held since the program’s inception. My passion for teaching and developing future healthcare professionals is at the heart of my mission to deliver high-quality medical training to our students.

Tracy Harper BSN RN

Hello,

I became a nurse in 2002 and have gained extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including MMH, where I worked in orthopedic neurology, rehabilitation, medical-surgical, skilled nursing, and home health.

My expertise includes strong assessment skills, wound care, and patient education on diagnoses, diabetes management, medications, and overall health maintenance.

For the past several years, I have been dedicated to raising my autistic grandchild while maintaining my nursing credentials. Additionally, I briefly assisted with a CNA class at Midland College.
